Stop the use of live animals as a spectacle at the London Olympics!

Live farmed animals – including sheep, ducks and chickens – are to be used as part of the Olympic opening ceremony in London at the end of July.

This is exploitative and potentially very cruel – hemming the animals in between thousands of spectators and visitors could cause them a lot of stress. The spectacle will also promote the small-scale, rural farming image when the reality is that most animals are intensively reared, crammed into factory farms up and down the UK.

Please politely contact London 2012 and ask them to abandon plans to use live animals at the ceremony!
